Rush Objectives Revision

We are working on restructuring our objectives into what is called a competency-based framework. What this means is we will tell you exactly what you need to do and how we’ll measure it. We’ll give you the didactics to learn those skills. Then to pass, you just do those things.

1 Evaluate and manage ED patients using a prioritized differential diagnosis

  1. Form a DDx focused on threats to life and limb
  2. Perform a problem-focused history and physical using illness scripts
  3. Create a diagnostic plan to refine Ddx (using pretest probabilities and testing)
  4. Create treatment and disposition plan
  5. For the complaints of chest pain, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, altered mental status and headache.
