Cook County Hospital

John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County opened in 2002 as a 450-bed teaching hospital on the West Side of Chicago. Home to one of the largest and most competitive Emergency Medicine residency training programs in the country, Stroger Cook County Hospital cares for over 120,000 patients per year. In addition, Stroger Hospital also features the busiest Level I trauma center in Illinois.

The emergency department is known for its wonderful and dedicated clinicians and educators, and also the home of the outstanding Toxikon consortium. They also feature a state of the art trauma and emergency resuscitation simulation lab.
